Concerts
Friday 26 April: Brian Peters Concert, 8pm Brian
Peters is one of the English folk scene’s leading solo
performers. He’s a compelling singer, one of the country’s best
anglo-concertina and button accordion players, and a skilled guitarist
as well. Brian loves traditional songs and specializes in the
Child Ballads, but he has an eclectic repertoire with plenty of
variety, including lively jigs and hornpipes, newer songs, and
occasional squeezebox wildness. This concert will be at OSA Hall, 220 E 23rd St, suite 707,

Eisteddfod:
A weekend festival of traditional folk music

word “Eisteddfod” is Welsh. It connotes a gathering of poets
and
musicians, and there is a large Eisteddfod every year in
Wales.
The name was adopted by Howard Glasser, the founder of this festival,
when he began these gatherings of singers and musicians over four
decades ago.]

Washington Heights open Sing:
(the fourth Thursday every month) Temporarily suspended due to construction.
An open sing held on the fourth Thursday of the month and led
by Anne Price and Arthur Sherry. Bring voices, instruments,
friends, and neighbors to sing and play along at a cozy inviting venue,
with good food and drink available. Free admission.
At Le Cheile, 839 West 181st Street (at Cabrini Boulevard),

Irish Traditional Music Session, 8-11pm
Mondays Tenor banjo, harmonica and fiddle player Don Meade
and friends get together every Monday night for an Irish traditional
music session in the back room of this historic Hell’s Kitchen
bar/restaurant. Free admission. Musicians and singers welcome. At the

Monthly Shanty Sing; 2-5pm
( third Sunday of the month)
We are co-sponsoring the The William Main Doerflinger Memorial Sea
Shanty Sessions at the Noble Maritime Collection (to give the official
title) on the 3rd Sunday of every month. THe first will be on
Sunday, May 15th, from 2:00 to 5:00 PM at the Noble Gallery, Building
D, Snug Harbor Cultural Center, 1000 Richmond Terrace, Staten Island,
NY. Refreshments will be available, including beer and wine for
sale. Snug Harbor is accessible by the S40 bus from
the Staten Island Ferry Terminal and by car. For more info about the
